In October, Ruby (11yr old, Border Collie X) had a lump removed from her left hind leg after a suspected foreign body. For 2 weeks post op, the wound become increasingly inflamed with increased bruising and oedema. Unfortunately, the irritation got too much for Ruby and she was able to get her buster collar off which resulted in self mutilation of her foot, resulting in muscle & bone exposure.
Due to severity of the wound, prognosis was poor and the option of amputation with highly likely.
Thankfully after 9 intense weeks of weekly Phovia treatment with frequent bandage changes with supportive pain management and antibiotics, Ruby made a miraculous recovery. The owner was very pleased and grateful with these results that Phovia had achieved.
